I would like to express my concern about the recent announcement of the suspension of the waiting list for adult victims of sexual violence at the CPIVAS in Laval.

It is unacceptable that an essential organization should have to close its doors to new requests for lack of sufficient funding. After six months, victims have no access to any other specialized resources in Laval.

I am asking you, as a citizen (or as an organization) to :

• • Correct the regional inequity in funding for sexual violence resources
  • Increase CPIVAS funding in a stable and predictable manner
  • Reaffirm your commitment to the rights of victims through concrete actions

Sexual violence is a serious trauma. Closing the door of the CPIVAS to a victim is to revictimize her.

We demand immediate action.
